How to Calculate Your Final Grade
Enter the marks for each subject
- Example: English (80/100), Math (70/100), Science (90/100)
Percentage
Formula:
👉 Percentage Formula:
\[ \text{Percentage} = \frac{\text{Total Marks Obtained}}{\text{Total Maximum Marks}} \times 100 \]
👉 GPA Formula:
\[ \text{GPA} = \frac{\sum (\text{Grade Point} \times \text{Credit Hours})}{\sum \text{Credit Hours}} \]
Example:
(80+70+90)/300×100=80%(80+70+90) / 300 \times 100 = 80\%(80+70+90)/300×100=80%
Assign the Letter Grade
- A+ = 90% and uper
- A = 80–89%
- B = 70–79%
- C = 60–69%
- F = Below 60%
Example: 80% = Grade A
If you want the GPA
Multiply each subject’s credit hours by the grade point
Add them all together and then divide by the total credits
Final Result = your overall performance in percentage + letter grade + GPA
Example: Final Exam Grade Calculation
Let’s say you have 4 subjects – English, Math, Science, and History. Each subject has different weightage and marks.
| Subject | Weight (Final %) | Marks Obtained | Max Marks | Weighted % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| English | 25% | 80 | 100 | 20% |
| Math | 30% | 70 | 100 | 21% |
| Science | 25% | 90 | 100 | 22.5% |
| History | 20% | 60 | 100 | 12% |
Step 1 – Calculate the percentage for each subject
English → (80 ÷ 100) × 25 = 20%
Math → (70 ÷ 100) × 30 = 21%
Science → (90 ÷ 100) × 25 = 22.5%
History → (60 ÷ 100) × 20 = 12%
Step 2 – Add them all
Final Grade % = 20 + 21 + 22.5 + 12 = 75.5%
Step 3 – Determine the Letter Grade (General Scale)
A = 80–89%
B = 70–79%
C = 60–69%
F = Below 60%
👉 Here, 75.5% → means Final Grade = B
Example Table – Calculating Grade from Percentage
| Marks (%) | Letter Grade | Performance |
|---|---|---|
| 90% – 100% | A+ | Excellent 🎉 |
| 80% – 89% | A | Very Good 👍 |
| 70% – 79% | B+ | Good 🙂 |
| 60% – 69% | B | Average 😐 |
| 50% – 59% | C | Pass 😅 |
| Below 50% | F | Fail 😔 |
